Location: Pittsburgh | Just curious - what exactly do you do when you binge eat? Do you sit and eat, concentrating on the food? Or do you do something else, like watch television?
I tend to eat massive amounts whilst sitting in front of the computer - I think it helps me not really think about the amount of food I'm consuming.

| I pretty much do both, I sit in front of the computer (my version of the tv) and I'll just stand in the kitchen preparing one food after another. |

| I always binge alone, never with friends or family and NEVER in restaurants or cafes. And I eat at twice my normal speed! Usually sitting in the kitchen in front of the computer or whilst reading a book or magazine. But not really concentrating on what I am reading because I am so distracted by the shame and confusion I feel about what I am doing. |

| in front of the computer. usually. sometimes i do it in public. family functions. then i ask if im eating too much and no one notices. ever.
during the remainder of my time at family function i was around uncomfortably bloated and wanting to leave.
usually after i eat, i want to leave wherever im at and go back to the comfort of my own home. where i can be comfortable being fat.
its sad.

| I binge in the kitchen when no one is around (I live in a dorm and share a kitchen with 3 people and a bedroom with one other girl). The food doesn't usually make it to my room, and if it does I'm sitting in front of the t.v. but not paying attention to it. Or, I'll buy a meal from a fast food place and eat it in my car on the way to wherever I'm going.

| I'm the same as SoHard I binge alone and if it ends up that someone comes home during the middle I scarf down whatever I was in the middle of and hope they dont suspect anything. I tend to feel terrible at that point. |

Location: Scandinavia | I always always always binge in front of the tv. I will make sure that there are no disturbances, position all the food so it is easy to reach, and look for a good tv-show or put a film on. I dont know, but binging when there are others around is not cool for me, and I cant eat anything while standing up, driving or doing something else, and that's not only when binging - whatever and whereever I eat, I do it sitting down, so I can focus on the food going down my system and try not to do anything else in the meantime. The only time I actually do something else like watch tv, is when binging (just realized that. Weird!)
I have a lot of rituals for binging. Certain things have to be done in certain ways! |

Location: Serbia | I walk. I go from one fastfood to another, buying enormous quantities of mostly junk food and eating (or more often devouring) it until the next stop. Since I got rid of TV several years ago, I watch it only when I visit my parents, usually once per week. These visits are often triggers of my BED phase for a bunch of reasons, but when I am already in BED phase, I binge in front of their tv. I almost never binge alone at my home. But while in BED phase, I elongate my way home by dotting it with more and more fastfood stops. I don't mind people see me binging, it might even help if somebody ever payed attention to it. That's a sort of my cry for help and understanding, that goes mostly unnoticed. |
